Oskar Blues set up shop in Brevard, NC in 2012, and they haven’t looked back since. Running at near capacity in just a few months time, Oskar Blues favorites (the signature Dale’s Pale Ale, Dale’s Deviant Ale, Old Chub, G’Knight, Gubna, Momma’s Little Yella Pils, and the infamous Ten Fidy.) are all canned right here in WNC, and all proudly bearing the “Brevard, NC” designation on every can.
Even though Oskar Blues is a little farther afield than some of the other breweries (especially if you’re in Asheville) we’re including information about OB’s tours this week because the also offer a free trolley ride to the Brevard brewery from Asheville on Saturdays and Sundays!
Tour times for the brewery are once a day at 4 pm, Monday-Thursday, and a full schedule of tours are available Fridays and Sundays at 2pm, 3pm, 4pm and 5pm. If you’re interested in taking the trolley to visit the brewery, you’ll need to meet at the pick up & drop off location for the shuttle, which is the Aloft Hotel (51 Biltmore Ave, across from Barley’s Taproom).
Here’s the shuttle schedule:
Pickup at the Brewery in Brevard 4pm
Arrive AVL for Pick-up / Drop-off at the Aloft Hotel – 5pm
Arrive Oskar Blues Brevard – 6pm
Departs brewery at 8pm
Drop-off back in Asheville – 9pm
You Brevard-folks are welcome to ride to and from Asheville on the trolley as well, so if you’re looking for a lift to Asheville, show up at the brewery about an hour before the scheduled pick up times above (ex: on Saturday you would want to be at OB’s by 4pm), and the bus drivers will communicate with Brevard passengers about return times.
