Highland is down to “Sweet 16” in their 20 Beer for 20 Years series and this Friday with the release of the Tony Kiss Brown Ale. Tony Kiss, the full time beer reporter at the Asheville Citizens Times and known to all as the “Asheville Beer Guy”, has been a part of Asheville’s craft beer movement from the beginning. Over the years, Tony has been sharing the gospel of the local craft beer movement far and wide, and in honor of all that Tony has done for #AVLBeer, Highand has whipped up a new brew for one the brewing community’s staunchest advocates.
According to Highland, the Tony Kiss Brown Ale features English Maris Otter, along with pale, amber, chocolate and brown malts, bringing the nutty, toasted bread profile you expect in a well-rounded brown ale. The included rye lends a touch of spiciness, and Cascade and Willamette hops bring a floral nose and a touch more spice to the flavor profile.
Head over to Highland this Friday and raise a glass of the Tony Kiss Brown and salute our favorite Beer Guy.
