Fonta Flora Brewery celebrates its very first anniversary this weekend with a first ever bottle release of a beer that was conceived, born and raised in the mountains of Western North Carolina. The Echoview Estate Appalachian Tripel is a tongue-twisting palate-pleaser from the fledgling brewery, featuring hops and barley grown at Echoview Farm, with the barley malted at River Bend Malt House. In another first for the brewery, the Appalachian Tripel will also be available in 750 ml bottles to take home and enjoy.
Featuring notes of blackberry and honey (also produced at Echoview farm), there’s no doubt this will be just one in a long list of spectacular brews from Fonta Flora. Brewer and owner Todd Boera has created a big reputation with his small batch, locally sourced beers this past year, and has been a major advocate in our area for brewing beers with ingredients as locally sourced as possible. Being such a small brewery, Todd has the advantage of being able to experiment with a variety of sources and styles, keeping his tap list filled with a variety of brews that would be impressive at a much larger brewery.
Fonta Flora will also release a Double Hop Beard IPA and the Urban Monk, a Defiant Whisky Spiral Imperial Stout at the celebration, and live music and food will be available at the brewery as well.
