One of our resolutions for this year was to try and keep our craft beer indulgences from affecting our midsection. Well, easier said than done…you really only have two choices in that equation, either lay off the beer (not happening) or exercise more to minimize the effects (reluctantly happening). We’ve always needed a good bit of motivation to run, but because this is the Original Beer City, USA there are lots of great running events that start and end at breweries to motivate us.
Next weekend, the seventh annual Black Mountain Greenway Challenge is on, and you need to go ahead and register this week if you’re interested. With two choice for runners (5K and 10K), races start at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, beginning and ending at Black Mountain’s very own Pisgah Brewing Company (Pisgah Pale=Perfect Recovery Beer). Sponsored by the Black Mountain Greenways Commission and the Black Mountain Running Co., all proceeds from the race benefit The Black Mountain Greenways Commission, which is spearheading efforts is to add more greenways around Black Mountain.
