[/symple_box]You people have been calling us for more news on this one! The Best Firkin Beer Festival, our favorite old time beer festival, is back for its 3rd year in a row! A pre-prohibition era festival with old time music, food vendors and unique craft brews from some of the best breweries in the region, the Best Firkin Beer Fest will feature barrel aged beers and all kinds of specialty brewed beers, bringing Asheville some of the best firkin beer you’ve ever experienced!

Barrel-aged and specialty brews are a definitely coming of age in the craft beer scene, and many of the brews featured at the Best Firkin Beer Festival are brewed exclusively for the festival. There will be an incredible selection of unique brews that you won’t find at the local pubs or even at other festivals, so if you’re looking a beer festival with something a little different, then this is the place to be!

Ticket sales were slightly delayed this year due to some technical issues, but now the new website is up and running and tickets are on sale now! General Admission tickets are $40 per person, and they are also a variety of other packages available for VIP attendees (and VVIP packages, too!), so check out the website for information on all the different packages.

Taking place at the beautiful meadow at Pisgah Brewing Company, a shuttle will be offered from downtown Asheville via the Hop & Go brewery shuttle to allow festival goers to enjoy the day safely and not hassle with parking. Entertainment will be provided by ol’time musicians and buskers to create an atmosphere perfect for enjoying the old world flavor of firkin beer.

This year, a portion of the proceeds will go to benefit Wild South!, an area non-profit dedicated to forest preservation and protecting the legacy and beauty of the South.

Last year’s festival nearly got flooded away with rain, but we still had one of the best times we’ve had all year.  It’s a great festival, with great people.  We’re recommending you get your tickets early, because this year’s BFBF is going to be the biggest and best yet!  And once again, the Asheville Ale Trail has ANOTHER great Beer Fest ticket giveaway.  Just sign up in the box above!
