Lots of trails in WNC, paddling trails, jogging trails, biking trails…and, of course, the Asheville Ale Trail. This week, Oskar Blues Brewery in Brevard, NC has paired up with the WNC Alliance to bring you a fresh new look and one of the oldest trails out there: the French Broad River Paddle Trail (which officially opened in 2012). Oskar Blues and the WNC Alliance have created a new Paddle Trail App for your smart phone, and are having a release party at the Tasty Weasel on Wed, July 30.
The app includes map and information for people wending their way down the FB, with location and information on the series of campsites and access points that stretch out along the more than 140 miles of the French Broad River. The app also offers paddlers up-to-the-minute information on river-related events, river reports, and even includes a way to reserve spots at the Paddle Trail campsites.
On Wednesday, from 5:30-8 pm, Oskar Blues will host live music, Avery’s Hot Dogs, and even offer up some Oskar Blues’ world class craft beer. WNCA staff members will be on hand to share more information about the world-class French Broad River Paddle Trail. Those who download the app will also enter a raffle at the party to win a watershed dry bag, waterproof Paddle Trail map, or some Oskar Blues swag.
