This Independence Day may dredge up memories of the Civil War with a North vs. South Hotdog Eating Competition at the Thirsty Monk North in Reynolds Village, and the Monk South at Biltmore Park this Friday, July 4th, 2014.
So….how many dogs do you think you can eat? The Wiener Champs at both Reynolds Village and Biltmore Park takes home $100 cash, so come on out to compete, or maybe just grab a beer and cheer on the contenders!
To sign up to compete, you’ll need to fill out a registration form at Biltmore Park or Reynolds Village, or email firstname.lastname@example.org with your name and email address, which Monk you will be attending, and if you require veggie or regular dogs (this is only allowed because the Monk’s owner is a (relitively clean living vegetarian.)
Also, bring a donation the day of the event to benefit the Asheville Humane Society. Both Monks will be hosting fun side competitions, including Pin the Wiener on the Bun and Find the Condiments (both of which all sound far more suggestive than the actual events will be) for additional fun and prizes! Competition starts at 5 pm and lasts 5 minutes, and should be a sight to behold.
