Every year, Lonerider Brewing Co. of Raleigh, NC, invites homebrewers to participate for a chance to brew their creations at Lonerider’s brewhouse.  These beers are marketed under the “Brew It Forward” moniker, with competition and a portion of beer proceeds going to benefit Nourish International, a non-profit in organization trying to make an impact on extreme poverty.

This year’s Brew it Forward beer has been brewed and will be release at Barley’s Taproom in the upstairs bar this Thursday, Sept. 19th at 4pm.  This year’s beer, ‘The Black Eye’ Schwarzbier, was selected from numerous entries at the 2013 Lonerider Brewing’s annual Showdown competition in Raleigh last March with the winning entry being Asheville’s very own Adam Reinke.

Adam, a notable area homebrewer and prominent member of local homebrew club MALT has been on a bit of roll this year with at least three of  his brews winning competitions to be brewed by different breweries. If you haven’t tasted one Adam’s award winning brews, you’ll get a chance this Thursday at Barley’s.

Lonerider will also be debuting their Red Spur seasonal at this event, and they will also be bottling the Brew it Forward beer for the first time, which means you should be seeing it at area bottle shops sometime late next week.

Go check it out, and congrats to Adam!
