A big tip of the hat to Mountain Xpress writer and Beer Scout Thom O’Hearn for clueing us in on this one. The Skyland/South Buncombe branch of the Buncombe County Library is offering a series of free presentations on beer with local beer expert Cliff Mori, certified cicerone and founder of Brew-ed, a local beer education company that offers brewery tours.
The first class in this three part series took place earlier this month and the two remaining classes will take place at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, and on Thursday, Dec. 11. However, just because you missed the first one doesn’t mean you’ve missed out; each class is designed with a different theme, so you can enjoy them individually or together
We think these FREE classes are a perfect introduction to craft beer and the local brewing scene. If you’re interested in learning a little more about what goes into the beer you drink, then this is a great place to start. We’re also hoping you go to the two remaining classes so that the library will be encouraged to continue with more beer centric programming into the new year.
The Skyland/South Buncombe Library is located at 260 Overlook Road. Reservations are not required, but if you want additional information contact the library branch at 250-6488.
