Sierra Nevada Brewing Oktoberfest 2017

Sierra Nevada held their Oktoberfest this year (2017) with German brewery Brauhaus Miltenberger. Together they brewed a classic Oktoberfest marzen style beer that paired perfectly with the autumn foods served up. This year’s menu included Nooner poached bratwurst and kraut, Brasstown beef roast, slow roasted Heritage Farms pork with Oktoberfest wholegrain mustard sauce, German potato salad, brussel sprouts, and harvest salad.  And pretzels. Can’t have an Oktoberfest festival without big chewy pretzels.

For entertainment Sierra invited 3 great bands; the Mountain Top Polka Band, Sirius.B and Minor Mishap Marching Band. In addition to great music, Hot Glass Academy and Asheville Area Arts Council hosted a mobile glassblowing studio with live demonstrations from local artists. It was a great party and good times were had by all.
